Kenwood Double-Din Bluetooth Car Stereo

[ Edited ]

I purchased a Kenwood double-din bluetooth car stereo for which I had all of 1yr and 6 months. Kenwood informed me today that they would not release software updates for models older than a year. Cellphones updates quite frequently and without a software update for the stereo, the two are incompatible. So I am stuck with an expensive care stereo that I cannot completely utilize (i.e. bluetooth) due to incompatibility of the two systems. I informed the Assistant store manager Christon {removed per forum guidelines} of this, at which time he nonchalantly and rudely retorted that nothing could be done for me. Basically, both Best Buy and Kenwood wants users to re-invest in a new system each year for cell phone (Android & Iphone) compatibility which is a waste of money and time. If I could put 0 stars I would. This BEST BUY and KENWOOD SUCK!

Re: Kenwood Double-Din Bluetooth Car Stereo

Hello Ntshclytn,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having with your Kenwood car stereo and its compatibility to your phone.  I know it can be a frustrating experience when you can no longer use one of the features of a stereo that you’ve only had for less than two years.

While we hope that all of our customers are able to use the products they purchase from us for a very long time, unfortunately we are unable to control how manufactures choose to update the software of their products, or how those updates might affect our customers.  I still hope that you are able to find some enjoyment from your stereo even without this particular function.

Regards,

Re: Kenwood Double-Din Bluetooth Car Stereo

[ Edited ]

The sole reason I purchased the Kenwood Double Din bluetooth car stereo was because I wanted bluetooth capability. The 2012 370Z nissan I purchased, factory radio system did not have bluetooth. At the time of the Best Buy purchase I was going to buy a Pioneer but the sales person told me mamagement told him to push Kenwood and that the Pioneer brand caught on fire.

What I want is for Best buy to allow me to upgrade to a better bluetooth system, paying the difference that I invested in the Kenwood and purchasing installation along with the warrenty for the new system.

I don't understand the lack of customer satisfaction Best Buy exudes. How would you feel if you were in my shoes?
