Going Elsewhere for Laptop Number 4

Best Buy is always my first go to when looking for laptops or computers and some appliances (most of the time for new tech in general). This time my old laptop (which was purchased from Best Buy) was on its way out and I was starting to look around for a new one. So, of course I headed to Best Buy to browse. I had an encounter the last time I went in to my local Best Buy with one of the associates and decided that this was something that corporate needed to be aware of.

Well I went to the web to find the contact information for corporate. I called. The lady transferred me back to customer service. I called back and told her that I wanted to speak to someone in corporate. She told me that I needed to talk to a customer service agent who could not do anything except for document the incident and then send it off to someone else in corporate, with me pretty much never knowing if they were going to do anything to resolve it or just ignore it. She made it seem as if corporate didn't want to speak to customers. So, I had to go back and forth with this lady for a few minutes before she actually connected me with someone who said that he was in corporate.

I spoke to him and told him what happened. He said that he would document it and send the information to the store. He did eventually offer me a small gift card ($25) which really wasn't worth all the arguing and hell that I had to go through to find the information and "wrestle" with the operator to even get to him. The McDonald's with the nasty employees offered me $60 after I took my sandwich back up to the counter and showed them the hair that I found in it. The catch was that I could only use it at their location. So, I turned it down and just never went back. What good is free food when it sends you to the hospital or kills you? Not to mention in that same visit another man pulled the manager to the side to tell her that the cook was back there handling the food after having handled the garbage can and not washing his hands...UGH!!! Needless to say, I just stopped going to McDonalds altogether because I could never look at another McDonald's hamburger the same way again.

At least the gift card was something but it won't be enough to regain the trust that was lost by this experience. I will be going elsewhere for my new laptop. If corporate goes to so many lengths to NOT hear from their customers then I most certainly don't want to go there to make a larger purchase such as another laptop or appliance because I know that when something goes wrong with it and I really need them, chances are that they will not be there.
