Welcome to the Best Buy Support forums. In my time as a Geek Squad Agent, a printer not printing a certain color is something I ran in to many times, and I know how frustrating it can be.
Thanks to jxs2 for the assist on this one—those are some of the most common causes of a printer not working. Running the printer’s built in cleaning cycles is a great first step. You can find instructions on how to do so in the user manual at this link.
Another thing that sometimes works is taking the ink cartridge out and shaking it, then reinstalling it. This is kind of a long shot, but it’ll work on occasion. If cleaning the print heads and shaking the cartridge doesn’t work, your next step would be to buy a new black ink cartridge. You can buy one at this link. Luckily this is a relatively inexpensive cartridge.
If the new cartridge doesn’t fix your issue you will need to look into getting your printer serviced or replaced. If the printer is under a year old, I suggest getting in touch with Epson to go over your options, as you will likely still be covered my their manufacturer’s warranty. If you are no longer covered by a warranty, I’ve found that it is usually more cost effective to buy a new printer than it is to repair one.
I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please let me know.
