Best Buy 1582 - Withdrawal Pending

[ Edited ]

Hello, there is a charge of $52.99 from my bank account from Best Buy 1582 and I'm not sure what this is as I haven't purchased anything or ordered anything from Best Buy in a few years.

How do I find out?  My email is {removed per forum guidelines}

Thank you!

Re: Best Buy 1582 - Withdrawal Pending

Hi there, KathrynCook,

Although I wish it were under happier circumstances, welcome to the forum! Finding a charge on your account that you don’t recognize can be alarming, but you’ve certainly come to the right place to figure out what’s going on.

Based on the amount charged, it’s most likely from an anti-virus subscription, so I peeked into your Best Buy account using the information you provided. After some digging, it appears you purchased a 2-year, 3-user Webroot anti-virus subscription back in 2014 that has been renewing automatically ever since (meaning you were charged $52.99 last year as well).

Would you like me to opt you out of the auto-renewal?

I hope to hear from you soon,

Hello, thank you for your response.  I spoke with someone yesterday and I did opt out.  They told me my account would be credited for the amount withdrawn?  Confirmation #(removed per forum guidelines).  Can you tell if this credit is pending?  The amount has not yet been credited.  Thanks so much !  K. Cook

Hey KathrynCook,

Upon closer review of your account, I’m honestly not seeing that your Webroot antivirus was opted out of auto-renewal. We also are unable to refund digital downloads as we consider them to be final sale (our Return and Exchange Promise here), so it’s concerning we may have advised you of this, particularly as that confirmation number doesn’t pull up anything in our system.

With that said, I’d like to discuss this with you further, so please be on the lookout for a private message coming your way. You may view it by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Thanks for posting,
