Merging My Best Buy™ Accounts


Q:  What options do I have if I have more than one account?

A:  If you have more than one account then we can potentially merge your accounts into one primary account.


Q:  What happens when my accounts are merged?

A:  We close one account and then move any active points/certificates from the closed account to the primary account.


Q:  If I have a Gamers Club Unlocked membership, will it transfer during the merge process.

A:  Yes.


Q:  Are there any suggestions when merging my accounts?

A:  To ensure you receive the maximum number of points, we suggest making any account that is attached to a My Best Buy™ credit card or Visa card the primary account.


Q:  If my significant other and I or a family member have separate active accounts, can we merge them together?

A:  No.  If the name associated with each account is different, then we CANNOT process a merge.


Q:  What information do you need from me when merging multiple accounts?

A:  We would need your current name, phone number, mailing address, email address, and My Best Buy™ account numbers.


Q:  Can I merge my own accounts through

A:  No.  You would need to send us your merge request.


Q:  Where can I send my merge request?

A:  You can send your request via a private message to the MyBestBuy account on the Best Buy forum by clicking here (must register for the forum to send your request). Please include your current name, phone #, mailing address, email address, and member IDs.


Q:  How long does it take to merge accounts?

A:  Once complete, it should take up to 24 hours for the merge to fully process and for any points/certificates in the closed account to transfer over to the primary account.


Q:  After my accounts have been merged, is there anything else that I need to do?

A:  You would want to make sure that your primary My Best Buy™ account is linked to your account.
