if i buy a turntable with a built in preamp can i just plug the rca plugs to a studio monitor or speakers? if not, please tell me what to do

I don't see why not as long as you have the right connections/cables.  Are you referring to a specific turntable?  If it's one that we carry, you could check it out in a local store and consult with the Musical Instrument Associates to be sure.

yeah im referring to the sony  PS-LX300USB  usb turntable from bestbuy

Ok, yeah the RCA outputs on the back should be good to send audio signal to a receiver or any RCA input you have for your speakers.  Have you tried this out yet?
