Hello Amber,
Great question! Local Best Buy Musical Instrument stores have the opportunity to allow local bands to play in their stores if they follow guidelines set from our headquarters. Best Buy Inc. only truely sponsors larger national and international acts, we do encourage our local stores to provide a venue for local bands to perform if they so wish.
So what you're most likely seeing is Eleventh Hour Remedy speaking with the store's musical instrument department and the store's general manager about playing there. If you are interested in pursuing something similar I would recommend speaking with the musical instrument department in your local store.
Thanks!

Hello Theory28,
Unfortunately no. Local stores are simply offering a venue in which you would be able to promote yourself and in many cases your CD that is sold in our stores. We are not employing you as an artist or paying for or allowing use of any instrument.
This is simply a promotional endevor based on mutual gain for both parties. Local, lesser known artists seek audiences and Best Buy has high traffic in the store to provide that. While the artist is showcasing their music which can be sold in store and their talent with musical instruments we now sell.
Great question.
