I purchased a Casio WK200 keyboard. When I plug in the Sustain Pedal, I get the sustain without depressing the pedal. When I depress the Sustain Pedal, there is no sustain. It is exactly opposite of the way it should work. I went back to Best Buy to get help from the sales rep but he couldn't figure it out and said he had never seen that happen before?

Hi jack0214,
I've had that happen before too. It is a polarity issue with your pedal. You can sometimes change that in the keyboard settings but you can also buy pedals that have a switch built into them such as this one:
Hope that helps! Hopefully you haven't been learning how to play with it in reverse ![]()

Hey, do you plug the pedal in while the keyboard is on? If so, that's your problem. The polarity of the pedal is "confused" when you plug it in while the keyboard is on (I have this problem all the time) causing it to function "backwards." If this is the case with you, try turning off the keyboard to plug the pedal in, then turn it on. That should fix your problem.
