Ordered guitar and no one can tell me where it is.

     2 weeks ago I ordered a guitar through my local best buy. I used my charge card to pay for the guitar. The man working in Musical dept said that Cordoba ships quickly and would probably get it within a week. The man working at best buy said the order gets sen to corporate, they then place the order through cordoba, cordoba sends it to corporate and corporate send it to the local best buy.  I had recieved a confirmation of the order via email that day by the time I got home.

 

     Its been 2 weeks now since I first placed the order. Ive called best buy several times to ask them to please track the order and tell me what the status is on my guitar, they of course dont know anything and said they couldnt help me. If I ordered through a manufacturer or some online store, I would be able to track my order, and call and ask the status of an oder, and would expect the same thing here.

     2 weeks might not seem like a long time however corporate should of recieved the order instantly, and placed the order. So where is my guitar? And why cant anyone tell me where it is? The only reason i used my charge card is because I had to buy a new computer the same day, I was going to order this guitar via manufacturer but decided to give this a try. It would of taken 3 days to ship to me had I done it that way. Of course I now realize perhaps I should of.

 

     The other issue here is I already have recieved a statement. I feel like canceling this order due to the fact no one can tell me what is going on. And I am not making a payment on something that 1) I dont have and that 2) no one can track. So how do I know this order even exists? How do I know corporate is doing there job? How do I know the local best buy did there job? If it cant be tracked  then it doesnt exist..

Hey Buechin321,

 

I'm sure you're really anxious to have your guitar and I'm sorry for any delays that have been going on with the special order.  The turnaround times do vary because each vendor is different in how they handle these.  We certainly do have ways to track the progress though and I am currently researching what's going on with yours.  I expect to have more for you early next week and I will send you a private message then.

Yes, I also ordered one from in-store musical instruments department.  It's been a week, and I don't expect it to be here quite yet, but I haven't received any type of e-mail confirmations (although I did provide it at the time of purchase).

 

Am I missing something here?  Did my guitar not get ordered?  I was told that it was in BB's distribution center at the time it was ordered.

Hey janosfia,

 

I pulled up your info here and your guitar order did in fact go through properly so the lack of email is not due to an error in the order placement at all.  The lack of email is likely due to it being so soon, as you mentioned, because it does sometimes take a bit of time for the vendors to fulfill these special orders.  However, if you want a more detailed status update, you can try to contact a Musical Instruments Associate at the store and see if they might be able to do some follow up on it for you.
