Why doesnt the best buy website offer epiphone or gibson guitars for sale? I want to purchase a epiphone but there is not a BB in my area that carries the music instruments. I know that the stores carry these brands, but why not the website?

I hope you enjoyed your purchase at Guitar Center, if you ended up going there! I do apologize for the delay in answering that question, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a great many musical experts browsing the forums right now.
There is no clear cut 'answer' to what you have requested. In some respect, the manager decides what to hold in store. In other instances, Best Buy will decide not to carry an item in store due to sufficent interest that they are aware of.
The best thing to do is let your local manager know that you would be interesting in having the line at your locally. It may not help you now, but your feedback might help someone else walking in the store to purchase in the future.
Again, I really hope you enjoy your guitar!

Oh! I'm sorry! I totally misread your post - you wern't talking about the stores, but the website!
The answer is essentially the same - the 'website' is considered a store, and the store is considered a different market. There might be a contract with these manufacturers NOT to sell it online, or a mydrid of other reasons. I do not know the exact one, but rest assured your feedback has been noted.
