What's your Favorite Movie?

What's your favorite movie? I always enjoyed when Harrison Ford reminded us all to wear our seat belts when flying an unlicensed refridgerator through an atomic explosion. Great line huh? Something that came to mind during my viewing of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I have silly quotes like this for most of my favorite movies I hope you enjoy them...:smileyvery-happy:

Re: What's your Favorite Movie?

Well, I wouldn't classify it as my favorite, but it is one of my favorite movies to quote: The Princess Bride.

Re: What's your Favorite Movie?

There are really too many for me to list, but I'll do my best.

Harry Potter (all of them)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

XXX

Wanted

Love Actually

Rent

Hairspray

Little Women

Twilight (I know, I'm a dork)

Dances With Wolves

Robin Hood: Men in Tights (because the men in tights song is the best thing ever)

Grease

Twister ("Cow" "Another cow" "Actually I think it was the same one...")

Swing Kids

Wall-E (too cute!)

Kill Bill (both volumes)

Pirates of the Carribean (all of them)

Little Mermaid (Because who doesn't like Disney movies?)

And there are a ton more...those are just my top favorites. LoL

Re: What's your Favorite Movie?

This is so hard to just say one, so like others I will list a few and perhaps a brief explanation of why I like it so much. I wont do them in order because I think everyone has favorites in different catagories.

1. Rounders: Matt Damon, Ed Norton. Not too much more to say, this movie started the poker boom and made it mainstream. I love the narration by Damon, movie works on so many levels even without knowing a think about poker.

2. SuperBad: One of the most quotable movies I can think of, just very funny and the way the people spoke in the movie was completely accurate. It didn't feel like a movie it felt like how people in that age bracket actually talk. Super funny.

3. American Beauty- Great music throughout the movie, and on the surface looks like one thing but then turns out to be a movie about so much more. Pretty dark movie, I think.

4. American History X: Another Norton flick here, very well written and acted. Another kind of dark flick, that makes you think about a lot of things. The black and white part of the movie to me adds a lot of depth.

5. Dumb and Dumber: no explanation needed.

6.The Butterfly Effect: I loved this movie, dont know ho wother people feel about it, the second one was a disaster though.

7. Boiler Room: The only Vin Diesel movie I have ever liked, check this movie especially now with all the trouble in the stock market.

8. Man on Fire: Denzel was great in this movie, Great movie, with a sad ending.

9. Fight Club: I would explain but, First rule about Fight Club, is you don't talk about Fight Club.

10. Home Alone: Still a great movie that I can watch at anytime.

Re: What's your Favorite Movie?

Time for me to weigh in, and like GeraldRose, I have way too many to list, so I will explain why I like them so much!

Superbad - I also find this to be one of the funniest movies I have ever encountered.  To top it off, I know a dude irl (well from online) who looks totally like McLovin.  Classic.

The Changeling  (1980) - Good, older creepy movie.  George C. Scott delivers a sharp performance as a man entangled in a mystery that truly affects his life.  One of the few movies as a kid that scared the dickens out of me, without showing anything really.

Say Anything - I am a hard core John Cusack fan, and I loved him as Lloyd Dobler in this movie.  It also was my introduction to Lili Taylor, who I came to adore in later roles.  This might seem like a teenage love movie, but it is so much more.  I highly recommend!

Dogfight - The late River Phoenix and Lili Taylor are a delight in this film.  Set in the 60's Phoenix plays a marine on weekend leave, who is on a mission to find the ugliest date for a contest with his fellow servicemen - a "Dogfight".  He stumbles upon Rose, (Taylor) who is not exactly how he first assesses her.  A bittersweet love story.

The Princess Bride - Robin Wright Penn, Mandy Patinkin, Carey Elwes, and Billy Crystal are just a few of the stars in this crowd pleaser.   It follows the story of Buttercup and her love for Westley.  This is not your traditional love story, but full of laughs and action!

Empire Records - A genuinely guilty pleasure, full of great music and laughs.  Rory Cochranes turn as Lucas is brilliant.  Maxwell Caulfield of Grease 2 makes a delightful turn as a washed up songbird "Rex Manning". It's REX MANNING DAY!!!!  Also, one of my other faves Ethan Embry (then Ethan Randall) makes the role of Mark his own. First thing that I ever saw Seth Green in...he cracks me up.

All of the Austin Powers movies, All of the LOTR movies, Every Kevin Smith movie ever made, ESPECIALLY his newest Zach and Miri...well you know the rest.

I could go on and on. LOL!

Re: What's your Favorite Movie?

Speaking of SuperBad,

Seth Rogan is in SOOO many movies. It's incredible.

I am glad I can say that I liked him before he was uber-famous.

Freaks and Geeks anyone??

Re: What's your Favorite Movie?

Sooo correction...Seth Green is not from Empire Records, my brain got all fried thinking of Ethan Embry, who is in "Can't Hardly Wait" with Seth Green.

So many good movies, so little time!  I think this list is all my young, fun genre movies.  I like many serious things, but couldn't think straight when I wrote it!

Nighters!

Re: What's your Favorite Movie?

Butterfly Effect was horrible because of Ashton Kutcher. I don't know why anyone thinks he can act.

Interesting.

I thought him NOT acting like some teeny bopper who gets mixed up in some bad relationship was an improvement. Meh.
