All pretty good movies in my opinion. The Blind Side is based on the inspirational true story of football star Michael Oher. The story is good and I do like Sandra Bullock, but the movie itself was a little slow paced for me.
Precious on the other hand was much more my pace, and based on author Sapphire’s best-selling novel about a girl’s hard journey though life. The one downside I felt to this movie was some bizarre scenes where the girl is day dreaming that just didn’t seem to add any meaning to the movie.
The Fourth Kind, wow, I watched it last night and let me just say that I barely slept afterwards! This movie has a good pace too, and the only downside was that a lot of the dialogue was kind of soft and sometimes hard to hear. All I can say about this movie is I will never look at owls the same again!!
Did anybody else see any of these movies and want to share their thoughts? I am especially curious to hear what others thought of The Fourth Kind – that movie makes you think! ![]()

OMG I loved the Blind Side and Precious! Precious was a heavy, heavy movie! I was crying pretty much every other minute. LOL I do wish they would have chosen someone else for Precious' mom because I had a hard time taking Monique seriously in that type of role (though I will say she did a good job - I've just seen too many things with her in it where she's hilarious ... not MEAN like she was in this movie LOL).
The daydreaming was kind of pointless. They should have focused less on that and more on expanding the ending to let us know what would have happened after the movie ended.
The Blind Side was kind of slow paced, but I really liked the story line so I couldn't really complain.

Hi starhelper2587,
Yes, I agree, it was a little hard to take Monique seriously in a “mean” role but I thought she did a good job too!
So now you have to watch The Fourth Kind, I can’t wait to see what you have to say about that!! ![]()
Have a good day!!!

I actually read the book for Precious before I watched the movie, and because I did this, I realized why she needed the daydreams. In the book, it is how Precious escapes from the memories of the abuse from her father. I was almost scared to watch the movie because the book was so very graphic (in a bad way) however I think they did a good job letting us know about the abuse, but not showing too terribly much. The book expounded quite a bit on the other girls in her classroom and the struggles they went through. Also, you physically could see how Precious learned to read and write in the book, by using the journal with her teacher, Blue Rain.
I loved The Blind Side personally! I saw it in the theaters with my husband, then bought it on Blu-ray on release date. My girls also loved it and Quinton Aaron just melted my heart as Michael Oher. In addition, I love Tim McGraw in general, and he always delivers in any movie he is in. Did anyone catch his turn as one of Vince Vaughn's brothers in Four Christmases? That completely cracked me up to see him play so against type!
I will have to check out The Fourth Kind.

The Blind Side was an excellent movie. Great acting from Sandra Bullock. This movie was very inspirational and the story was engaging. I was pleasantly shocked because the types of movies I normally watch tend to be full of action, comedy, or a mix of both. Definitely not a "chick flick" like I thought it would be. Two thumbs up from me.
I'm still apprehensive about watching both Precious and The Fourth Kind.

If you watch Precious, be prepared for some very frank adult topics, not suitable for youngsters really. I am also apprehensive about The Fourth Kind because mainly, I am a big sissy! ![]()

Sarah - I would love to rent The Fourth Kind but in our household, Jesus is the sissy on scary movies. He claimes he doesn't get nightmares but I think he's full of it. LOL I really liked Parnormal Activity so I definately want to rent The Fourth Kind soon! I was a little disappointed though when I learned that it was complete BS like the Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity but I still want to see it

Hi starhelper2587,
That’s funny
, I actually didn’t think The Fourth Kind was that scary other than that they claim it’s all true. I also heard that it’s fictional though, but I guess you still never know…
Ok, The Blair Witch Project did scare the bejeebies out of me. I don’t think, true or not, camping will ever be the same, lol! I haven’t seen Paranormal Activity yet, now I’m going to have to! My BFF watched The Fourth Kind with me and said I should watch The Mothman Prophecies, have you heard of or seen that yet?

I liked Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity, and Mothman. I was 17 when Blair Witch came out and immediately went to a bonfire party in the woods following the movie! It was a bit more than scary to be out there! Mothman I found more interesting rather than scary. Paranormal Activity I really enjoyed, unfortunately I was only able to see the alternate ending, and heard about the real ending (which sounds a lot better). I have yet to see the other three movies you guys have been discussing ![]()

I doubt that you will be disappointed with Blind Side AgentG. I think I will rent Paranormal activity now.
