I have to admit, I'm with the GS agent who made the facebook dare. My sister is convinced that she's going to marry Robert Pattinson.
I'll also agree that Alice is probably another one of my favorite characters, along with Emmitt. I love the character in general because he's so easy going. Then, on TOP of that, to cast Kellan Lutz as Emmitt, *swoon* It's the dimples, girls, the dimples. LoL
Don't take what I say as being absolute. There's always room for improvement.

Howdy Dorothy,
So I saw Twilight this weekend. I really had no expectations and haven't read any of the books.
(Funny aside: a friend of mine and I went to a bookstore when Stephanie Meyer's most recent book was released, although I had to ask who she was when I went to ask what the event was with all of the teen girls roaming the store in formal dresses. I thought, Gee, this is just the kind of thing my daughter would have loved!)
I have to say that the movie was enjoyable enough, but I thought I could tell where the adaptation suffered. The story was told well enough, and the actors did well in their roles, but there seemed to be a layer of depth missing. Heavy topics like why the Native Americans looked at the Cullens with such scorn were not delved into when it seemed a key point of background. The flashback wasn't enough! But I certainly enjoyed the cinematography and settings, and I liked the fresh take on vampire mythology.
What I really liked though was the movie's musical score. Not the pop music, but the instrumental score by Carter Burwell. I found it evocative and appropriate for the the story and cannot wait to pick up a copy on CD at my local Best Buy store! Sometimes a movie is made better by its music and this was definitely the case with Twilight!
Regards,

I have to agree with you John about the cinematography, settings and score. I also had no expectations other than knowing it was vampire related.
The cinematography was superb, enough to make me want to visit Forks, La Push and the Olympic National Park. As far as the score goes it set the mood perfectly. The scene where he is playing the piano seems slightly odd to some, but did a great job of meshing the score and characters even more.

that's something that's pointed out in the book. Edward actually writes a song for Bella (called Bella's Lullaby) and plays it on the piano for her. The makers of the movie wanted to incorporate that and thus Bella's Lullaby was wrote for the movie by Carter Burwell. I love the instrumental song itself, but when I read the book, I had a melody that was going through my head that I had created. Interestingly enough, it's very similar to one of the background harmonies that was in the song!
On a side note, my great uncle (my grandmother's brother) lives about 30 miles from Forks. My sister and I decided we might have to go visit him and take a side trip. LoL
Don't take what I say as being absolute. There's always room for improvement.
