One of the best series I had read in quite a while was Suzanne Collins trilogy 'The Hunger Games'.  I found them to be action packed and suspenseful, as well as quite emotional.  Imagine my delight when I heard that one of my favorite series was making its way to the big screen!

The Hunger Games opened around the country on March 23, 2012.  The story follows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) , a young girl who lives in District 12 where  coal mining is a way of life and food is very scarce.  Each year the ruling class of her country Panem, known only as 'The Capitol' conduct the Reaping, where 1 female and 1 male teenager from each district are selected to participate in the aforementioned Hunger Games as Tributes, where they fight to the death.  This particular year, Katniss' 12 year old sister Prim is selected, which prompts Katniss to volunteer to be the female Tribute for her district. I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say this flick is very true to the books and a great adaptation, in my opinion. 

Early on in the film we are introduced to Gale (Liam Hemsworth) &  Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) who both also grew up in District 12 along with Katniss. Last week during the Canadian Premier in Toronto, our Best Buy Canada team got to sit down with these two stars who answered several questions posed by our Best Buy Canada Facebook Fans.  Learn about their favorite scenes from the film, thoughts on their co-stars, craziest things to happen on set, as well as their personal preferences on a plethora of consumer electronics.

Initially read the manga and then purchased the movies with subtitles...although I lost them a few years ago ;_;  Guess this gives me a chance to pick it up on Blu-ray.
