Phil Collins "Going Back" CD packaging

Hey Best Buy community,

I need some help -- I just bought the Best Buy exclusive packaging of Phil Collins' "Going Back" CD  (not the extended 35 track version).  I am trying to figure out if I got a bad CD disk, if the Best Buy exclusive packaging is faulty, or if I am a complete idiot and am missing something very obvious!!  All are viable possibilities!

The "Best Buy Exclusive Packaging" advertises an additional DVD with a 30 minute interview with Phil Collins. Ok so far.

The back of the CD box and the lyrics insert show  "Side One"  and then lists the 9 song titles.  Then it says "Side Two" and lists 9 additional song titles.  Still ok.

I pulled out the first disk, it has a black and grey Atlantic/ Phil Collins Going Back label on it that says Stereo  and then A  (I assume for side A).  The other side is the nice shiny, silver side that when you put it in the CD player (shiny side down :smileyhappy:) it plays the first 9 songs. So far so good.

Now, I decided to play the songs from SIDE TWO and I can't find a Side Two! I tried flipping my first disk (with the label) over and tried it label side down (I'd been hoping for some new label technology that let the disk be burned through the label).  Nope, upside down doesn't work (kinda like I figured it wouldn't).

The second disk in the box is the DVD (and labeled DVD where the first disk says Stereo).  I did try in my CD player and it doesn't work.  It played just fine in my DVD player and it really is a half hour interview.  It also has a black and grey label on it so it doesn't flip over as a double sided disk either.

According to the album description, there should only be one music disk.  Did anyone else buy this and get a different 'stereo' disk that was double sided?

Wondering if I should be irritated or embarrassed?

Re: Phil Collins "Going Back" CD packaging

Hey all,

Well, I finally went to out local BB store to try and get this resolved and found both a bad disk and some poor packaging.

Turns out my CD disk was bad -- it wouldn't play past the 9th song.  So we opened another CD and tried it.  It had all 18 songs on the one side/Side A of the CD.

For "exclusive" BB packaging, this was pretty poorly done.  The CD inserts should not list a  Side A and a Side B if there is only  one side on the CD.

My disk is exchanged and I'm listening to all 18 songs.  Problem solved, but still weird!
