New releases 4/24/12

Since the weekly ads only show the mainstream stuff, two new releases for anime this week.  Full Metal Alchemist fans rejoice!  The latest movie, Sacred Star of Milos, and the first 33 episodes of Brotherhood (in one box set) are being released today!  I'll be picking up my copies once I head into work.

Re: New releases 4/24/12

Hope people see this post to know what's up. I bought the FMA movie today! Though I won't watch it cause I have to go to the BBy near me and bring my Giftcards and a dvd so I can take part of the Trade N Save promo. And if anybody is gonna buy it, do the promo on the blu ray version (which comes with the dvd) and you'll pay the same price as the stand alone dvd.

Also glad Funi packaged it in a bluray case/slip. I've boycotted all their dvd size releases which saddly makes me miss out on a lot of anime :smileysad:

Re: New releases 4/24/12

Think you'll really enjoy it.  If you like FMA, you should.  Mainly focused on the Elrics, so not much screen time for Mustang and the other state alchemists.  Gonna have to do a marathon tomorrow to watch the first half of Brotherhood.

It would be nice if they used the smaller packaging for everything...or just kept all the packaging the same size instead of shrinking the Blu-rays.  Can't beat the blu-ray/DVD combo packs for pretty much the same price as the regular DVDs.

I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the movie. Probably watch it today after I play some more Prototype 2. Or maybe and wait for the weekend to watch it with my friends. I tried to do a mini marathon too from half way through since I've been letting my friend borrow my disc so she can get into it. Such a good series. Yeah, packaging bothers me too much. I like my collection to look consistant and I like collection slipcovers/O-cards. I just hated that they used to do combo packs in dvd cases. Or now they do with some of their new releases is blu ray case with dvd size slipcover which has cardboard so the blu ray disc just hovers on top of it....yeah. If FMA movie did this I may of had passed it up. Glad they didn't.

Not sure that any anime has ever been released in 3D.  Know that these weren't.
