Im not insecure about liking these classic TV Shows....

If anyone says I have anything wrong with me with what Im about to say I say :smileytongue: on you!

Back in the good old days there were old shows on. Some of my favorites to watch was Designing Women, Soap, One Day at a Time, Maude, and Golden Girls.

I dont know about you, but these funny classics really bring back the memories and wonder if any of them ever made it to the DVD releases?

Hey hockeycanuckjc -

This post made me reminisce and laugh. I used to LOVE Designing Women and the Golden Girls!  I personally am a huge fan of the old Laverne and Shirley, Happy Days, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Munsters, Cheers, Mork & Mindy, Different Strokes, The Facts of Life.

I could go on for days...but now I just want to go watch some TBS!

If only I could get the "Gilligan's Island" theme out of my head....

Re: Im not insecure about liking these classic TV Shows....

I guess "classic" is a relative term, but some shows I wish I could watch regularly would be

1. Wonder Years

2. Boy Meets World (I infact had a conversation via FaceBook about this show)

3. All in the Family (on TVLand but not often enough)

4.Not a classic but Kenny vs. Spenny is VERY funny!

That is all for now, but I am sure there are others.

Does anyone remember the EXTREMELY short show called "The Rerun Show" I believed it aired initially on NBC, but was such a nightmare that it was moved to VH1 after 1 or 2 weeks, and then cancelled. It was actually pretty funny.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Hockey - Who wouldn't love the Golden Girls? I'm sorry, but those old women had spunk, especially Sophia. It's too bad about the actress who played her. :-(

Yeah, she passed away not too long ago. Yeah, just looked it up. Passed away in July 2008, just a few days before her 85th birthday. She had Lewy Body Dementia, which is a disease I never heard of. *wanders off to learn something new*

Re: Im not insecure about liking these classic TV Shows....

Hey everyone,

Those of you that spent a lot of time watching PBS (and more recently BBC America) would recognize this one: Are You Being Served?

The thing that I remember most vividly about the series, of course, is Mrs. Slocombe's ever-changing hair color.

As far as Golden Girls, Designing Women and Soap are concerned though they have all been released in DVD format over the past couple of years:

Golden Girls

Designing Women

Soap

Hope this helps you out!
