My favorite holiday movie is "A Christmas Story". I would strongly recommend this if you want to watch something funny and memorable! I also love "Frosty the Snowman" and the old "Rudolph" claymation type shows. For something more modern, "Elf" cracks me up.

Karina,
If you don't have How The Grinch Stole Christmas, you definitely need to add it to your collection. I grew up with the same ones you did. The Grinch is essential. As another family alternative, I loved The Santa Clause. Of course, I like Tim Allen an extra lot. I hear there's a trilogy now that I'll have to get!

I know for me it is not the holidays without watching my two favorite holiday movies: White Christmas andNational Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. At the end of White Christmas when Bing Crosby and troupe perform the final salute to the general at the end of the movie and sing White Christmas, my tears just start flowing. Every year it tugs at my heart string.

Hey All,
Happy Thanksgiving to all...you know what is it about Holiday movies that make them so wonderful? Maybe it's that they're filled with hope and happiness...they make us laugh and cry..they bring joy and warmth..they remind us of our own Christmases...and the wish that for at least one day a year we all care about each other...That we actually want things to be allright..that we want Peace on Earth and Good Will towards men....that we want to really believe in Santa Claus...
that we love spending the day wiith our families...even the crazy ones...All movies mentioned here are great examples of this and more...If I had to pick a favorite it would be National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, which by the way has become a tradition in our house...usually around the first week or two in Dec we all gather around and laugh at the Griswalds and their family...which brings us closer as a family...
So this holiday/christmas season..may your lines be short...the smiles be long and may all of you get just what you wanted under your tree...and maybe, just maybe life will bless you with one of it's special moments....just make sure you not to busy to see it..!

Hi hockeycanuckjc,
I like the song the choir sings in the first Home Alone. I don't recall the name.
