I am debating on getting a iPhone 4s or wait for the iPhone 5 (whenever that may be) I was wondering if I bought the iPhone 4s and get the BB buy back program, I could then return the 4s and get the 5 when it comes out. When the 5 does come out when I would trade in a 4s would I then have to buy the iPhone 5 for full price or would it be the $199?

That will depend on if you are eligible for an upgrade from your carrier.  If not, then you will pay full price minus what BB gives you for your 4s.  Keep in mind that if you go with the buy back program, BB will give you much less than your phone will be actually worth.  You will get better deals by selling it on your won, or to one of the webistes that specializes in buying used electronics.  You will get mor emoney by seeling to them than from BB's buy back program.

The Iphone 5 has not had a release date yet...but most likely will be released in September or October, that is when the other Iphones have been released around. But  yes if you are not due for upgrade when the 5 comes out you will have to pay the actual price of the phone not the upgrade price.

The iPhone 5 will probably be a small, incremental upgrade and nothing worth getting excited over.  Rumors have it that about the biggest changes are that the edges will be rounded, and that the home button may go away.  It will still have the same tiny screen.

I didn't debate very long, I got an iPhone 4S as soon as I could. I had a Blackberry Bold 9650 and just wasn't that fond of it. I know there are some diehard Blackberry fans out there, but they can have 'em. This iPhone 4S is simply amazing, and I'm not overly concerned about an eventual iPhone 5. The 4S already does everything I need it to, and I learn how to use some new feature almost every day.

I can state without reservation that there are many ANdroid phones out there that simply blow the iPhone away.  I will never go back to an iPhone.  Bigger, brighter, better screen, fully customizable interface, the app market being much more open...and I cannot think of a single appple that does not have an exact duplicate or an equivalent on the Android market.  Plus, the current android i have now, the Bionic, which is the 2nd android phone since switching, is much faster, more responsive, slimmer, has better batery life, has a replacable and upgradable battery, etc.  I'll keep my iPad, thanks, as android doesn't yet have anything that matches the screen on the new iPad, but I'll never go back to an iPhone.

just get whatever's currently out in the market.. you're never gonna be up to date with technology. Besides, you never know for sure when the next one is going to come out. but if you have the patience, go for it. I would just get the 4s right now

NoNoBadDog: We're straying just a bit off topic here (the OP is wisely trying to choose between current and future Apple products...lol). In any event, I don't doubt that Android has some great phones. I was considering getting an Android at one point. However, by the time I was eligible for my Verizon customer loyalty $50 carrot on a stick: I had bought an iMac, had a Sony CD deck in my car that was iPod and iPhone ready, and had iCloud and Home Sharing turned on. Given all that, an iPhone seemed like the logical choice.

It is always best, in my mind, to get your upgrade as it becomes available. Get the latest and greatest at the time. In 2 months it will be out dated anyway. I like Apple products but..... That being said I would not get an iphone as I like the free market and not being tied to itunes. That is just me and I am just saying....

Hardware wise, the iPhone is already outdated....has been for a while.  I agree...iTunes is the single worst piece of invasive malware ever written.
