Re: Saving your smartphone's battery

I have a razr, have had it for about 3 weeks. I am going tomorrow to return it for a MAXX because I am a battery killer, lol. But I will answer your questions. You do not need a task killer b/c the phone has one built in. It's pretty cool. It is called Smart Actions. I currently have mine set so that the background data is turned off anytime my phone is sleeping and all night long. The Smart Action app has many options. You can set it to be silent every time you are in a certain location and tons of other stuff. It also will automatically dim the backlight and turn off background data when your battery starts to get low.
Screen Protector, no, I haven't even thought about a screen protector. But I'm only a few weeks in. It's a really durable phone thought. The battery issue gave me some grief as well when making my decision, but it hasn't been an issue. The one time I thought I needed to reboot it, I just followed the instructions and held down the power and volume button together and it rebooted. Enjoy your razr, it's an awesome phone.

Re: Saving your smartphone's battery

I've also found staying away from live wallpaper and also disabling animation in display settings. What is YOUR thoughts on using more than one ( 2 at most) battery apps?

What do you mean by "battery apps" - If they overlap in functionality - probably a bad idea.

If they are simply used to collect data (like BetterBatteryStats) - if you find another app that provides a piece of data the app you're using doesn't - why not?  (as long as the app doesn't use battery itself in the process of collecting its data)

If you mean apps like JuiceDefender - I don't use such apps, and many have found that they make things worse or have major negative side effects (like significantly delayed notifications)

Re: Saving your smartphone's battery

I have the Samsung GS2 and the battery seems to work fine. Also, if you use apps where there are free versions and paid versions that cost only like a dollar, get the paid version because the advertisements run even when you shut off your app and drains the battery.
