Samsung Stratosphere Restarting Itself

I upgraded to a Samsung Stratosphere in January and I have not had any problems out of it until recently. A couple of days ago it would turn off, then turn back on by itself. Then it would show that I had no service and it kept turning on and off. I restarted it and it was fine. Last night it turned off by itself and then turned back on. I've done everything to stop it from doing this but it still does it. Now it shows the date December 31 and time 6:00 pm everytime I turn it on. Then it turns off and turns on by itself. I don't know what's going on!!!

Re: Samsung Stratosphere Restarting Itself

I'd recommend performing a factory reset, that should weed out potential software problems.

Re: Samsung Stratosphere Restarting Itself

i had the same problem, and the suspicious actions are ''too much apps in the memory'',

my story is about, i upgraded my memory to 32 GB, and i move some system files and when i was putting in my new memory, my phone start to freezing like you say, without service, so i was like cutting and paste, moving folders, and by the end there is a folder called ''android_secure'' it contains the apps installed... don't worry about the other folder called ''android'' it contains SAVED files and cache from apps, so that folder ''android_secure'' is the suspicious one; and i think for my conclusion is like this phone have a limit of apps that can be downloaded, i calculate this before like 250 apps, i saw in th Verizon community (the best blog support for phones) this phone is really not good, and i have one and i believe in those who say this..., and i got a 2 year plan, so i cant get the newest version, the Samsung stratosphere II, this phone is the fixture of the last one the same spec (weight, long, width, deep) just with more RAM and less freezing and less sh*t.....

Re: Samsung Stratosphere Restarting Itself

For what it's worth...it might be a trashy SIM card. I would definitely get that checked out at Verizon or BB if the factory reset doesn't work. Good luck!

Re: Samsung Stratosphere Restarting Itself

I had that happend a few times with my Samsung phone. I brought it in and the same guy who sold it to me took charge and reset it and updatd the base software build and never had the problem since.   All I had to do was go play Xbox for awhile.
