Well its July 14th, still no call from Best buy... guess they didnt get their shipment, Called my local Verizon store, dude was like yep we got droid x's, put my name on a list and said i was guaranteed one if I came in the store the next day. Sweet.

Guess Ill have to use my BB gift card for something else...

Well This Sucks But I Expected It No Call Yet Preordered Second Time Around 2-3 Days From The End Of The Preorder

I ordered around the same time (06/25) and did not get a call until yesterday. I was told that the phones had not yet arrived and there was a possibility that they would not arrive by the 15th. I was very disappointed and was contemplating going to the Verizon store on the 15th.  To my delight I got the call this evening at about 8pm mountain time and was advised my  two phones had arrived. Apparently I was the first person on the list and my wife was the second. I'm looking forward to getting my droid tomorrow morning at 10am when BB opens. I hope you all get the call too.

FYI i heard that anyone who pre-ordered the second time around will most likely not be getting there phone on the release date.

Well Then I Might As Well Just Ordered Off Of The Official Verizon Website Same Price Only Reason I Didnt Is Because I Heard There Was A Mail In Rebate But There Isnt

Thanks for your personal reply to my reply. A lot of people are concerned that we can not use our "new every 2" eligibility for the upgrade which varies in price from as low as $35 to $50 to $100. I am a long time costumer of Big Red so I was grandfathered in at $100 although I think after this upgrade I will be down to $50 like most other people. I know we get the $100 instant mail in rebate but my concern was making sure I get the additional $100 New Every 2 rebate. Verizon CSR told me I shouldn't have a problem but i figured I should contact BB just to be sure.

I am assuming that when I go tomorrow at 6:30 to pick up my phone they will look up my account and see that I am eligible for an upgrade and also eligible for the new every 2 discount of $100. Is this the case?

Hi Stacy,

Yes, Best Buy can honor this upgrade at our stores.  They may have to make phone call to Verizon to confirm, but other than that you should not have any problems as long as you're eligible.  It may be a good idea to allow yourself a little extra time at the store so that Best Buy Mobile can confirm all of the details with Verizon if need be.  Let me know how everything goes!

Just a question for everyone who got their DX.  I'm upgrading an existing line to a DX.  If I do this on-line at verizonwiress the activation fee is free, and there is no "mail in rebate" or "visa" rebate, so the cost is the same as Best Buy at $200.  I am a corporate customer, so I don't know if this makes a difference, but when I fill out the order on-line there is no activation fee (it says "free first bill", so I think they charge it then credit it back.

Did you have to pay an activation fee on your line at BB, or is that free and handled int he same fashion?

I just called the BB store (Rockville, MD)  where I ordered my droid and was told that they are filling all preorders only...so i'm on my way in a few minutes...
