iPhone FAQ correction

The sticky states that you can't swap the SIM. This is not true, especially since apple provides a tool for doing so.

Hello BBYMemployee,

Thanks for keeping us on our toes.  I've made an update to the FAQ to reflect your correction.

Re: iPhone FAQ correction

However, I do believe they need to have a 3G simcard. They can't have an older sim card that is not 3G.

Re: iPhone FAQ correction

Yeah, that's true of all 3G ATT phones. However, very few people have non 3G SIMs. I've come across maybe one or two a month, if that. Even if it doesn't have that little 3G fireball logo, if it says 3G next to the contacts on the back, it'll work.

Re: iPhone FAQ correction

See my thread Sim cards as I thought I was in this thread when I responded. I really need some sleep. Did not get much over the weekend.

Re: iPhone FAQ correction

Man we are out in the sticks and some of our customers are using 4 and 5 year old phones. So we do get alot of non 3G sim cards to replace when they do an upgrade. It is ok as we keep plenty in stock.

Re: iPhone FAQ correction

If you go through AT&T's activation system, if it thinks that the SIM or UICC number is outdated, it will recommend that you replace the SIM.

Re: iPhone FAQ correction

No, it won't. The ONLY time it will require a new SIM is if the SIM you are trying to use is a non-3G SIM.
