Re: iPhone 4S pre-order

I end up with returned my black one to bby. I ordered white one but on launched day they don't have it and I went to the mall with family on sat and see no line at apple store so I just asked them if they have the one I want AND they had a lot in stock !!! Also $50 cheaper than bby ;( so I decided to return.
Finally we found out that apple store is the only best place to get what we want for iPhone !!

Re: iPhone 4S pre-order

Well the Best Buy near where I live had recieved a large shipment of 16g iphones, both white and black for all three carriers. The major problem is, a majority of the pre-orders were for 32g and 64g iphones. They called and asked us if we wanted to downgrade the phone that we ordered, when we stated no, they no longer wanted to deal with us. It seems like Best Buy recieved shipments from Apple and just sent stock out to stores. Not neccessarily to fill the orders, but just stock to fill the shelves. The store is in Mason City, Iowa.

Re: iPhone 4S pre-order

Just thought I'd jump in to share my experience on Friday, October 14th.

After confirming that the store would open early for the iPhone, I showed up just before 9am. The parking lot was deserted, the store looked closed. I got out of my car, and a manager walked out of the store to greet me. He asked my name and immediately new who I was and confirmed that my phone arrived last night and was there waiting for me. He let me in, directed me to the mobile department, and about half an hour later I walked out with my black 16GB iPhone 4S, all ready to go, contacts synced over, full body shield for 20% off and applied, and free headphones. No lines. No hassle.

Though there was a lot of stress and confusion between pre-ordering on the 7th and pick-up on the 14th, I don't think it could have worked out any better in the end.

Re: iPhone 4S pre-order

@Maclover22 - Did they get Sprint shipments, or just AT&T and Verizon

@Scotymax - You received a Sprint iPhone 4S or AT&T/Verizon?

Re: iPhone 4S pre-order

For those filing complaints, here is a starting point you may want to use:

Best Buy engaged in a massive ad campaign to enlist consumers to pre- order the Sprint iPhone at a cost of $50. This ad campaign was employed with the knowledge that Best Buy would receive NO Sprint iPhones on launch day.

When I went to pick up my iPhone on launch day, I was informed that even though I was first in line for my pre- order, Best Buy had NO iPhones to sell. I was then refused a refund on my $50 gift card that was required in order to pre-order the iPhone from Best Buy. This is fraud. Best Buy obtained my order by having a sales associate provide misleading information about a "pre-order" for the Sprint iPhone when in fact, there never was any intention to sell the iPhone on or near launch day. All Best Buy wanted was my $50.

Re: iPhone 4S pre-order

I agree. Very disheartening it is having to deal with best buy and having to use the word 'best' in reference to them.

Re: iPhone 4S pre-order

BB did receive sprint iPhones. Just not many of them. My store received some and some the people in thread reported getting on launch day.
