Well the Best Buy near where I live had recieved a large shipment of 16g iphones, both white and black for all three carriers. The major problem is, a majority of the pre-orders were for 32g and 64g iphones. They called and asked us if we wanted to downgrade the phone that we ordered, when we stated no, they no longer wanted to deal with us. It seems like Best Buy recieved shipments from Apple and just sent stock out to stores. Not neccessarily to fill the orders, but just stock to fill the shelves. The store is in Mason City, Iowa.

Just thought I'd jump in to share my experience on Friday, October 14th.
After confirming that the store would open early for the iPhone, I showed up just before 9am. The parking lot was deserted, the store looked closed. I got out of my car, and a manager walked out of the store to greet me. He asked my name and immediately new who I was and confirmed that my phone arrived last night and was there waiting for me. He let me in, directed me to the mobile department, and about half an hour later I walked out with my black 16GB iPhone 4S, all ready to go, contacts synced over, full body shield for 20% off and applied, and free headphones. No lines. No hassle.
Though there was a lot of stress and confusion between pre-ordering on the 7th and pick-up on the 14th, I don't think it could have worked out any better in the end.
