So I'm having a big issue with upgrading my Sprint contract. I was trying to trade in my EVO 4g and upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus. I called my local Best Buy, they told me a nearby store had 4 available. I called the store and they said they don't have them in stock but I can order one. They told me to bring in the EVO 4G, and a spare phone to transfer my number to temporarily while I wait for the new phone to arrive. I got there (Vauxhall, NJ), waited standing in line for 2 hours and 3mins. Finally once I was helped, they looked at my phone, filled out a contract, I signed it. They then took me and my phone over to the Geek Squad counter, where my phone was appraised for $17.50 instead of $50. Why? Because my otherwise beautifully flawless phone had two rice grain sized dings on the outter body. Flawless back, flawless screen, as it should be considering it was in a 3 piece case since the day I got it. However, I didn't get a "Fair" rating even, they wouldn't budge from "Poor". On top of that I got $5 more taken off the value of the trade in because I didn't have my charger with me...something that was not mentioned by the CSR on the phone when I called ahead nor spelled out in the fine print on the Evo 4G trade in flyer. But all that is not even my issue...
My issue that after almost 3 hours of being there going through this process, I still couldn't order the phone. The phone (Sprint Galaxy Nexus) is 199.99, my trade in is a $50 gift card (199.99-50.00=$149.99) and $17.50 paper print out coupon..the remaining value is to be paid by gift cards and $102 on my Best Buy credit card. I pretty much had exactly the perfect amount with about $3 left. However, I can't order the phone because I can't use the paper print out coupon unless the physical box is present and scananable. So now I'm being told to purchase a gift card for the amount short, and use it to order the phone, and once the phone arrives, bring the invoice and phone back along with the coupon and I'll get a refund back for that amount. However, once I get that refund back, it will be in the form of the payment method: a gift card! I'm still spending more money. Now I don't have any money on me save for my Best Buy credit card that only has $105 left on the limit, and the gift cards and coupon. Something has to be done here with issue. It's impossible that there can be no resolution to this matter. First off I had to settle for $67.50 trade in credit for my $200 EVO (which sells on ebay for $130+ easily) instead of the advertised $100, and second now, I can't even get my upgrade due to this system bottleneck with ordering the phone. I know a special order can be made for this loyal silver rewards member where the phone can be shipped to my local store so I can go over there once it arrives and pay for it properly. Please help me resolve this issue asap. Have a most pleasant day.
