hats silly is i preordered so i wouldnt have to stress out about whether i will or wont get an iPhone on the 14th, but due to Everything that happened ive become obsessed and will probably end up going at 6AM too.

It stinks but I don't want to be too critical of Best Buy because I don't want them to quit doing preorders. Despite all the trouble I'd still rather preorder for an in store pickup than order online where you dont know what number you are, shipping can get delayed, delivery is anytime between 8am and 6pm or you miss the package becwhile they always show up while youre in the shower.

Just curious as I am new to this site and this was the first time I preordered from Best Buy.  Aside from knowing you were first in line, how can you tell how many preorders are ahead of you at your store?  I preordered the sprint 32gb black.  Thanks!

The process has changed a few times and I apologize for the confusion.

To my understanding this is how it works: initially all iPhone 4s inventory that comes in to Best Buy will be reserved for customers that did pre-orders. If there are phones left over after the initial reserve they will be for anyone interested in purchasing one.

We do keep track of how many pre-orders were sold and in what order, so for example if we get in 10 phones and you were the 4th person to get a pre-order you are guaranteed 1 of those 10 phones.

We will not sell any phones to any customer until all pre-orders have been fulfilled.
