BB Return/Replacement policies

On Nov 4, last Wednesday, I went to my local BB where I "bot" an LG Vu CU 920 that is, in my opinion a total dud! Aside from quirky behavior and the inability to turn off the screen lock feature while using the phone to call an automated call site - my local pharmacy to refill a prescription or any other number that requires a series of numeric inputs such as credit card account numbers - I am thoroughly disgusted with battery life.

After charging the phone late Sunday afternoon, after using 10 minutes of call time and 88kd of data, the phone flat out went dead. I recharges overnight but had to remove and reinstall the battery before the phone would turn on this morning. This by the way was the THIRD time the battery required charging since last Wednesday and my total usage is a whopping 96 minutes of phone calls and less the 100kb of data.

Yes the phone is on 24/7 but this is dismal peformance.

If I return this unit, can I replace it with a different make and model? Also could I opt to return the unit and simply wait another month or two to replace it with an other phone or is my contract extension irrevocable and I am no longer eligible for a discounted phone?

Re: BB Return/Replacement policies

You have until 1-31 to exchange and 30 days to return. If you return it, the upgrade will be reversed and you'll be back where you were. You can exchange for any phone.

Re: BB Return/Replacement policies

Follow up question on that exchange policy.

I bought a Droid on the 12th of November.  Used it until the 15th when I decided I might prefer the Eris.  Exchanged w/ no issues on the 15th.  Still have all receipts, boxes etc for the Eris.  Finding that the battery life on the Eris is even worse than the Droid - and thinking I am going to need to go back to the Droid.  Do I still have the ability to do that - or is it 1 exchange only?  Praying that it's not, because this Eris drinks power like nothing...

Re: BB Return/Replacement policies

Can answer that point but did return mine this pm. Will wait a bit before selecting another unit and will see how long it takes for AT&T to reverse the contract extension.

BB's system does not impose a limit on the number of exchanges. With that being said, stores are allowed to cut off customers who they believe are abusing the policy. Now, based on your situation, I couldn't imagine a reason that they would deny it, as you do have a valid reason for doing the exchange. Just go back in and you shouldn't have a problem.

Re: BB Return/Replacement policies

Best Buy's extended holiday return/exchange program does not apply to Best Buy Mobile. Agreements with the phone carriers limit to a 30 policy, therefore if you bring your phone back after 30 days, you have a early termination fee. Also, BBM limits exchanges to 3 times during this 30 day period. I'm pretty sure this isn't a issuse with anyone, but just a heads up.

Re: BB Return/Replacement policies

Re: BB Return/Replacement policies

This is set up through the mobile departments themselves. After three, it is considered abusing the return/exchange system.

Re: BB Return/Replacement policies

I had a lady try almost every phone Sprint offers. She landed on a 8330 but only after trying both colors and keeping the red one. She told me it woprked better than the titanium one.
