stereo has power but no sound

bought a new kenwood deck for a 02 nissan sentra. took out the old one that was a disc changer factory. Bought the wire harness for the car. pluged it in power comes on plays the cd but cant get no sound. took it out checked the old one sound came out put the new one back in and nothing. any sugestions.

Something's not connected right with the audio portion. I always fall back to talking to our install bay techs. They are usually able to trouble shoot anything I've thrown at them.

It is likely an issue with a factory amplified system. It is possible that you just need to connect the right wire to turn on the factory amplifier, but the best way to connect those systems involves another part that matches the output of the new stereo to the expected input level of the factory amplifier. The best suggestion would be to check with your local Autotechs to see what their suggestion would be.
