I had an XM Commander installed over 3 years ago and just recently started receiving the message "Power Off/Check XM Tuner." Sometimes the message will appear for just a few seconds and sometimes it will stay on for the duration of my time in the car. This is far more than the tyipcal "No Signal" message that pops up when i'm in a bad satellite reception area. I didn't want to try to take anything apart myself because I had it professionally installed. I'd have to try to take the dashboard apart and I don't know where the various components were even placed. The reason I can't just take it back to my installer is because I had the work done at Circuit City which is obviously no longer around. Will a Best Buy look at my installation to see if it was done properly or if something has come loose? And I ask about being done properly because in my research to see if I could attempt to fix this myself, I noticed that the installation guide makes it very clear that the antenna should not be placed inside the vehicle. My antenna is in my vehicle: On the far driver's side edge of my dashboard.

Hello rwonderly3,
I can certainly understand your frustrations over this. Yes, we most certainly can take a look at what's going on. They more than likely will charge you, but I'd recommend that you stop by one of our stores and talk to the tech from the install bay to see what they recommend. Hope this helps.
Thank you,
