I did a quick check of the wiring and there is a wire listed for the memory seat operation so it might be possible for your Autotech to trigger it upon remote start so you might want to ask them directly if that is something they can do. There is also a function called "dome supervision" which I think functions like you describe "approach lighting" to be. These would both be things to ask your Autotech about as far as any additional parts or labor required to interface with the necessary wires.

Ok thanks! I don't think it should require any extra parts or labor to kep the standard features of the truck. Now additional features such as automated windows would cost extra because it requires additional parts. As for the memory seats, mirrors, and foot pedals I would think remote start would trigger these. The feature only works when the key is entered into the ignition. Since during remote start the truck thinks there is a key in the ignition, this would trigger the seats, mirrors, and pedals.
Since I have your attention I have one more question
What about the passive arming feature? This is a default feature. I heard the alarm will arm itself after 30 sec of the door being closed. Is there a way to disarm this feature? I do not want the alarm to re-arm itself after 30 sec. I can see potential problems with this like locking my keys in the car.

The passive arming of the unit is selectable and IIRC should be off as default. Your Autotech should be able to go over all of the programmable options of the unit with you before the install. Depending on the system it can actually passively arm without locking the vehicle (or vice-versa) or be all passive or all active. I like the passive arming without locking since then I don't have to worry about forgetting to arm it or accidently hitting the button in my pocket and it at least offers some protection. With yours you would also have the added benefit of using the keypad to be able to lock it. As long as your truck's battery doesn't go dead you will always be able to unlock it.
IIRC the memory system on those recognizes specific keys and the way that the interface module works is somehwat like programming a new key but doesn't allow for programmed memory settings so the Autotech would have to interface with a specific wire in order to "force" the memory setting to be recalled. The R/S might not have the correct output built in for it to do it right off the bat and might require some creative wiring and a relay (or 2) so that is where the additional charges would come into play.

The only time I have ever seen one of those systems cause a battery to die is by leaving it armed for a few weeks without starting it at all. It is extremely uncommon for them to cause an otherwise healthy battery to fail. The only reason I referenced a battery dying is because IF your battery were to fail, then the keypad on the door would no longer function and then if your keys were locked inside you wouldn't be able to unlock the door. Unlikely scenario, but possible once your batter starts aging or your alternator starts to fail.

Fantastic! I'm glad I could answer your questions. Let us know how it goes.

The install went great! The tech was very knowledgable and did a professional job. It took him about 5 hours which is good because he originally quoted me 7-8 hours. He showed me in detail how the system worked and demonstrated all the safety features. One thing he showed me was the hood pin switch. He used one from Best Buy and not the one that came with the kit. The one he used looks like a ball check valve that mounts underneath the hood. When the hood opens the ball drops and kills the engine. He said the Viper hood switch corrodes easily and sometimes doesn't work when it gets wet. He also programmed the bypass module for 25 min runtime and no passive arming, which is what I requested. Also he installed the bypass module and window break sensor free of installation charge. Overall a great experience and I love the system.

I am glad that everything went well and you are happy with it. Just as a note to everyone, installing those two parts for no charge is NOT a normal practice and is not often done.
