Aloha!, i am new to changing stuff within automobiles and i have been wanting to change the head unit for awhile now. I'm still stuck using a cassette player for plugging in my iphone. I would to upgrade to a head unit with aux, usb, and bluetooth. Before upgrading i had a few questions.

1. Will removing the stereo head unit remove the alarm system as well? (Since the security light is located on the radio.)

2. Will replacing my stereo head unit cause my steering wheel controls to not work on my new head unit?

3. What of head unit should i buy? Is it brand dependent?

Without seeing all that's involved, I don't want to lead you astray. I would recommend that you talk to one of the techs in Car Fi and Install Bay for their recommendations. Also one of our Auto Tech magicians might stop by and give his/her thoughts on this.
