I have an iPod Touch 1st gen and would like to know if it is possible to install an interface in my factory stereo (2007 Avalanche - no nav system) that would allow me to control the iPod from the vehicle stereo controls.

Hi Steve_B,
I'm thinking of the iSimple which can be hardwired via the glovebox. Here's a link to check out: http://bbyurl.us/z2s. I hope this helps!
Thank you,

you can purchase the product i've linked below, basic installation is included with purchase. many/most stores carry this piece in store stock

There are specific compatibility notes for these units and you have to have these features. On yours specifically you must have a satellite radio ready factory stereo with an "xm" or "band" button.

My stereo has the "Band" button that scrolls thru AM, FM, XM - so I'll be good with the "iSimple - Factory Radio Interface for Select General Motors Vehicles - Black" right?

Yup should be just fine. The model you need is ISGM76.

I use this kit in the past and installation was simple , if you have xm radio there is no need to remove the factory radio or open the dash the interface plugs in the glove compartment into the xm tuner that is on the right side of the glove box
all the iPod text comes in the radio display good luck <a href="http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-542-139-chevrolet-g
