I bought an Innovatek IN-723GPS system from mp3playerstore in an online auction. The main selling point for me was the GPS, but the system came with a navigation box that doesn't seem to have the software to run the GPS. There are several icons that are shown such as TomTom, etc. but when clicked, they all pop up messages that the software is not installed but they included the icon in the case that you wished to install that program. On the phone with mp3playerstore, the rep that I talked to said that they did not include navigation software with the purchase but that it could be downloaded or purchased at a store. He could not tell me anywhere in the US that I could purchase it- just Canada. I have searched for software downloads, but have found so many different types of programs including GPS locating people by cell phones and programs that track where you have already traveled. I just want to be able to use this system for directions to where I am going, etc. I tried the TomTom website and only find maps to update TomToms. Can someone please tell me where I can get the software I need to get this thing to work? Also, I am limited in my knowledge of computer programs and usage, so layman's terms and detailed instructions on how to install and get software to operate would be much appreciated. I am not necessarily looking for free software (though it would be nice if it worked right) but don't want to spend a fortune either- especially since I could just buy a portable GPS for under $75- but then I just wasted money on this system. Oh, the navigation box does have a memory card in it with Innosoft software and I think Windows CE. Thank you.
