Auxillary Input

I have a 2002 Ford Escape with original stereo in-dash. I want to add an aux input so that I can play my ipod easier as my radio transmitter that I currently use is often useless and annoying. Does BBY install these and at what cost?

Re: Auxillary Input

well you will have a couple different options, for your basic aux cord installation you can buy a product called the is77 or is32, the main differences between the is77 and the is32 is that the is77 will only give you the option to have either a cord that will charge and will need to be an "ipod" OR an aux plug installed, not both. the is32 will allow you to charge an IPAD! it will have an aux and usb. they both retail at 139.99 it will be up to you if you think that charging an ipad or a tablet would be worth it for you. both have amazing sound quality and they both come with INSTALL INCLUDED! here are the skus so that you can check them out on bby.com.  skus:  9252122 (is77)

                                                                 3440571 (is32)

hope this helps out!

Re: Auxillary Input

Thank you...this is all starting to point out that I should just buy a new head unit car stero that comes with the aux plug because it comes out being cheaper. I thought maybe this wouldn't be the case. Thank you for the info for now i will continue to use my fm transmitter when it behaves or maybe i will buy a better quality wireless one like the itrip which is still cheaper than the isimple config.

Re: Auxillary Input

just remember if you buy a new radio you will need a dash kit and a harness.  don't invest in anymore transmitters even the more expensive ones will perform the same as the cheap ones... good luck if you have any questions stop into a store and talk to an installer!
