Aftermarket radio problems

I have an 03 bmw x5 with the factory radio and i guess a factory amp.  I'm looking to install my alpine IVA w203 double din screen in it but was told i need to bypass my amp but i lose speakers.  Can someone please tell me what i need to do to install the screen and keep all my speakers working.  I would appreciate any advice in what i need to get and how to get this to work with my car.

          Thank you so much

Re: Aftermarket radio problems

Hmmm im not sure why you were told that. I'd have to look into it a little mre but i did go to Metronline.com to look up parts for your car and i cam up with this

Stock No. 71-9003 OEM HARNESS BMW/VW 02 UP that is the wiring harness for your car it looks standard and should integrate with your factory amp there wasnt an option for any other one, so it should work

Re: Aftermarket radio problems

Yes you can do that, and i will do the same. to get the best sound keep the amplifier and speakers, they sound very good and the acoustics of the audio system was design for that vehicle

you will need to remove the radio and  run speaker wires to the factory amplifier,( if the bmw radio comes with DSP this is not possible ) you have to use a low level adapter because the signal from the new radio is to high for the amplifier  soundgate makes one xtr4 and also pression interface makes the adapter

good luck
