Shipping to APO addresses

I had a horrible experience with Standard shipping from Best Buy.  If it doesn't ship USPS Priority then it takes forever and ends up in a warehouse for six weeks.  I ordered three presents for my sons in mid NOV and did not get them until after the beginning of the new year.  Merry Christmas to them!  They were disappointed and so was I ...with Best Buy.  If Best Buy uses USPS then they should allow for Priority Shipping.  I would pay for flat rate box Priority shipping to get it here in a decent time.  Everything I order from Amazon takes one week no matter what.  If Amazon can figure it out then Best Buy can figure it out.

Re: Shipping to APO addresses

I agree completely.  A chain store that markets hi-tech products cannot afford to be left behind.  And not just Amazon, but firms like Land's End and Barnes&Noble can get their products, via USPS priority mail, to APO customers in a week; if they can figure it out, then Best Buy can do it, too, and it shouldn't require lots of people writing.

I ordered software - that weighs nothing - near the end of March.  It is now May and it hasn't made it to my Europe-based APO address because it wasn't sent via priority mail.  It's really not rocket science.  Best Buy appears to have a contract or arrangement with UPS Mail Innovations - that needs to be modified so that packages to APO addresses go via priority.  I have been in touch with customer representatives and asked for contact information for someone in management to whom I could write, but have received no response.  The response I did get (before I asked to be put in touch with someone higher up) was essentially:  we're sorry you are frustrated, but we can't refund your money because our policy is that, unless 45 days have passed, we can't.  I happen to need to software for my daughter, who needs it for a school project.  I can purchase it through (guess what) Amazon now, but I will be out the money twice, and when the Best Buy package eventually swims across the ocean, I will have to then return it in order to get my money back.

Best Buy can do better - especially because it's really, really easy to do so:  Priority Mail; small packages, flatrate boxes - anyone can do it ... and should do it if you want to keep customers' business.  And if you can't do it, then even as a (previously) loyal customer, I wonder if you deserve to be in business.
