Hai Guyz,

I will be going to Fort Benning in November for BCT. I will then go to Fort Gordon for AIT. I was thinking of getting cell phone service with two cell phones. One for myself(I know that I will definately not be allowed a cell in BCT, dunno about AIT). One for myself, another for a close friend of mine who lives in Texas. I myself never messed with tablet PCs, netbooks, or really used a cell phone for much else except talk and text. My friend is a single mother who apparently lacks a cell phone(which I did not know until I asked for her number for my security clearance).

Therefore, my question is:

Should I wait until after BCT to purchase service, or purchaseit now?

Really depends on how nice you wanna be to her. Lol. I can guarantee you won't be able to use it at BCT... AIT, I don't know about the Army, but in the AF I was able to, just not right away.

So it really depends if you wanna pay for a phone you can't use for 2 months.

And, just a future FYI, it's not good to talk about your clearance

I was thinking around $100 a month for both phones.  Would there be any services where I could get her line now, and maybe add my line in later(Like during BCT)?

I know Verizon(who also does a mil discount of 15% ) lets you change your plan at any time...
