Manufacturer Warranties and Protection Plans

i bought a tv in feb 2012 and while it was on the screen all of a sudden cracked .. it scared the crap out of me .. i need to know if it is covered under my warranty ... i got the 4 yr plan .. it was a westinghouse 37" lcd screen ...

what do you mean by still operational? the tv will still turn on and it is only 2 months old... and you can see most of the picture except where it is cracked...  they won't replace the tv?

Physical damage is not covered by the plan, such as screen cracks. If you believe it occurred because of a malfunction and not physical damage, you can have a tech come out to evaluate it by calling 1800geeksquad.

Sorry to hear about your TV, and thanks for reaching out to us on this. Your Geek Squad Black Tie Protection (GSBTP) plan should cover any defects in the TV, but would not typically cover damage to the TV. The only exception to this would be if an authorized service technician determines that the TV was damaged due to a defect in the TV itself.

ChrystalWoW is correct that you can call 1-800-Geek Squad to arrange for a technician to look at the TV, but if they determine this damage did not occur because of a defect the repair will be at cost to you. If you have any further questions by all means post back to this thread.
