here is an update on my tv. the tech comes to my house yesterday to fix the tv they blew up last week. for those who think i am being dramatic about them blowing up my tv they did, they installed the wrong part they turned the tv on and it went POP then started smoking and smelling like burnt electronics. i am no tv tech but even i know that is not good. the tech spent an hour taking it apart and putting back together and taking apart and puting back together. he then finally said the tv was unfixable(DUH!!!) and that he would have to call his supervisor to see what he could do. he then stated after talking to his supervisor that they would replace the TV. Finally i thought i had the problem taken care of, but deep down inside i knew there would be a catch. when i went to my local best buy they tried to replace the tv with a DYNEX brand. a piece of crap tv that costs less then the one i had. i told them i didn't want the dynex because it was junk. they said my only option was that or another tv more expensive that i would have to pay the difference, that was there policy. i explained to them that these were special circumstances because they blew my tv up and i should't have to pay any difference. they refused. after an hour of pleading and plenty of yelling and no budging on there part i said give me the dynex and get me out of here so i never have to deal with this company again. then they came back and said they would sell me a better tv for only $50 more. now i have to pay money out of my own pocket for them blowing up my tv. then to make matters worse they said because i was exchanging the tv from a purchase from last year that the manufactures warranty was no longer valid i now would have to buy an extended warranty for $159. i ended up paying $215 for them blowing up my tv. THEY BLOW MY TV UP AND I HAVE TO PAY $215 OF MY OWN MONEY!!!! what a racket they have going. they blow up my tv and it costs me money. BUYER BEWARE WHEN DEALIN WITH THESE GUYS. this just isn;t right that i have to pay for them blowing up my tv.

Hi JIMMYGUMPER,
I truly do apologize for what sounds to be a very frustrating experience with the repair of your TV, and I’m sure being asked to pay more money to get a new TV just added to your frustration. The Dynex TV that the store is replacing your broken TV with should come with a one year parts and labor warranty, and the extended service plan you purchased along with it would provide for repair coverage beyond that one year. You should not have been required to purchase an extended service plan to have repair coverage for the first year, and you can always return the service plan for a full refund within the first 30 days (or for a pro-rated refund after the first 30 days)
I do see that you have been working with Liz in our corporate office on getting a resolution to your issue, and I would encourage you to continue to do so. I’m sure Liz will do everything she can to provide you with a resolution that will satisfy you. If you do want me to look into this for you just send me a message by logging into the forum, clicking on my icon, and then clicking on the send this user a private message link.
Thanks for posting,
Allan
