sent my toshiba laptop because i dropped it, im insured with the psp adh insurance

I tripped on my laptop when I was going to the bathroom and my laptop fell on the ground. I actually tripped on the power cord and the computer fell from my desk to the floor. The screen is cracked and the computer is cracked on the keyboard. I bought this in 2008 and I am insured with the adh plan, so I take it to best buy and it was terrible. I didn't have to wait in line, but the employees were on their cellphones and fooling around. The geek squad tech didn't even ask what was wrong with my laptop and she just told me to write a statement. After the statement, I waited thirty minutes for her to put it on the system and she ordered me a new power cord.... she didn't even tell me what was going to happen and what had to be done.... the service was very bad and they said they would call me in three weeks to let me know.... the question is, let me know what?
I told them I needed my laptop asap for school, because the fall semester is starting in a week and the tech told me I should just buy a new laptop....
What can I do?!!!

They didn't even question me about the laptop and they didn't even seem to care. Usually, I thought a manager comes and checks it out, but nothing was done.

Help!

BTW, when my laptop broke I called the 800 number on my insurance packet and I have the claim number. I was going to send them pictures for proof...

Hey amazinger71,

 

I can imagine why you’d be frustrated!  Having to send your laptop out for service is always difficult, and not being provided an explanation of the repair process certainly doesn’t make the situation any easier.  I would be equally disappointed under similar circumstances.

 

So you are aware, it’s been my experience that our off-site service centers can generally complete repairs within a 2-3 week timeframe.  Issues such as part availability and service center backlogs may occasionally cause slight delays, but rest assured that we strive to ensure that each and every repair is completed as quickly as possible.  Once any necessary work is done, customers are then contacted when their product is returned to the store.
