Re: ok im returining my ps3 and i got the plan BUT

Hey fadi,

Before assuming that there’s anything wrong with your PS3, you may want to take a look at
this article on Sony’s PlayStation support website. There are a number of factors that could be contributing to why games freeze, including multiple settings that can be easily adjusted on the PS3 itself. It’s also important to make sure that you’re running the most up-to-date version of the system software since updates tend to include fixes that address these kinds of issues.

If you do ultimately decide to return to your local Best Buy® store, however, no advanced warning is necessary. Simply bring the defective console and copy of your receipt to the customer service counters and an associate should be able to help you out. Formatting the hard drive isn’t necessary, but it’s always recommended that you back up your saved game files before seeking service. Additionally, keep in mind that the store will need to verify that the console is defective before any kind of exchange can take place under your Product Replacement Plan (PRP) coverage!

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to send me a private message. I’d be glad to help you out!

Thanks,

Agent Aaron

Re: ok im returining my ps3 and i got the plan BUT

was reading ur post about the PS3. I bought the PS3 last year and bought the 2 yr replacement plan. I was told specifically that if my machine had any problems all i do is bring in my console and they give me a new one on the spot without delay no questions asked and thats it. My unit freezes every so often and it is hindering my gameplay. I want to bring it in with my reciept, and protection plan. Are u telling me that i'd have to wait???

Hello mblum19,

Before any product can be exchanged under PRP coverage Geek Squad technicians do need to be able to verify that it is, in fact, defective. Diagnostics don’t usually take longer than a few minutes, but please understand that we would not be able to exchange the console if we cannot replicate an intermittent problem.
