iPhone 4s power button stick, not 100% functional. Have BB warranty plan

I am new to the forums here but have seen some great feedback.

In Novemeber I picked up the iPhone 4s thru BB. I also added the BestBuy insurance plan that I pay over $15 a month for.

Recently, I've been frustrated with the top right button on the phone that serves as the on/off for screen.

It's sticky, and stuck, not normal. I even went into the Apple Store recently, and they were going to fix it, possibly with a replacement, but I would've had to wait 2 hours for the Genius Bar.

Besides, my warranty is with BB.

Short story... my city doesn't have a BB. The next city 45 minutes away does. Am I clear to drive there and get a brand new replacement? I have treated this phone like a champ and there are no other issues. Have kept a zagg screen protector on since day 1.

I just don't want to drive all the way there and hear them tell me I can get a refurbished one, or some other story.

Let me know. Adam

Under your Geek Squad Black Tie Protection plan the store would be able to send your phone out for a Rapid Exchange, which takes around 3-5 days.

I would also recommend visiting www.zagg.com as they will ship you another InvisibleShield under their lifetime warranty.

Dan K,

Thanks for the response.

Am i going to be receiving a Brand New iPhone 4s or just a refurbished model?

Also... I don't have my ZAGG info to register it, as I threw away that box it came in. Does BB keep this info on account from when I purchased it from them?

No, Best Buy does not keep any info on your Zagg purchase other than a copy of the receipt.

The Rapid Exchange program will replace the phone with a Refurbished phone and it will take approximately 3-5 business days for the replacement to arrive in the store.

Re: iPhone 4s power button stick, not 100% functional. Have BB warranty plan

Hello no1nufan,

Welcome to our Forums.

I’m sorry that you’re having trouble with the power button on your iPhone, but that’s what the Black Tie Protection plan is there for.  As DanK and Mbrguy have already said, we would be glad to replace it with a refurbished model under our Rapid Exchange program.

As for the Zagg question, we don’t keep anything on hand that uniquely identifies the shield that you purchased, but do usually keep a record of your purchase. Let me know if you need help tracking down a receipt or if you have any other questions or concerns along the way.

Cheers,
