Thanks to the involvement of Allan I now have a brand new TV.  I truly believe that had I not found this forum I would've been strung along by BB and their selected repair/service center until my manufacturer warranty was up and then I would've been out of luck.  I say this for 2 reasons: 1. The repair/service center claimed to have the wrong model number for my TV, but never bothered to call me for the correct one. 2. When I gave the correct information (the same information I gave the first time) on 9/30/09 they didn't bother to order the part until 10/5/09.

 

In fact I heard from Allan that my TV was being replaced BEFORE I heard from BB and their service center.  My husband was actually at the BB getting the new TV when they called.  When my husband went to the store he got great service at the GS desk, but when he went to the TV department a salesperson tried to get him to upgrade to a larger TV and purchase extra things that we did not need.  He just flat out told them this was the last time he was ever dealing with BB and didn't want any of their extra crap.  Then they tried to get him to purchase the protection plan at which point he laughed and left the store with our new TV.

 

Many thanks to Allan for working on this, but I'm still leery of buying at BB again.
