Waterproof camera protection plans

I have a general question about the black tie protection for waterproof cameras.  If they are supposed to cover normal wear and tear, and the camera is waterproof, is it covered if it fails in the water??

Thanks!

Re: Waterproof camera protection plans

That's a good question since submersion is normally not covered with BTP but since it's a water proof camera it may be different. I would say yes but not completely sure.

Re: Waterproof camera protection plans

Hi gtshaft,

The quick answer to your question is that a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection (GSBTP) plan, covering a camera designed to be used underwater, should cover any damage that occurs while the camera is being used as the manufacturer intends it to be used.

This is a long way of saying yes the damage should be covered on an underwater camera. Keep in mind that most manufacturer’s state how deep the camera can be used underwater. If for some reason the damage was to occur while the camera was being used deeper than the manufacturer recommends this damage would not be covered.

I hope this answers your question, but if you do have any further questions of me by all means post back to this thread.
