Warranty fraud

I sold my house last year, the buyers wanted our LG appliances and we left them... Yesterday I found that they are pretending to be me to get service, I also found that to do so they had somebody add their phone #s as primary contacts to our rewards account in January 2012 They could have done so only with the help of a bestbuy employee. They were not given warranties on anything in the home purchase! Am I the only one who sees a problem with them stealing my identity to defraud bestbuy? If I call in a issue with any bestbuy product in my new home they will be called... Not me! I was also told it screwed up me getting points for my purchases. So far no one at best buy seems to
care that they have a foot hold into stealing my identity! I found out I could cancel warranties that were extended... Something I did not know and I did so but it does not solve the problem that a bestbuy emPloyee edited my account to benefit somebody else and allow them to perpetrate fraud!

Re: Warranty fraud

I should add that i was getting calls in December about a LG fridge repair and told them numerous times that it was not me calling it in, that I did not transfer any warranties and to please stop calling me. The fridge was bought in 08.

Re: Warranty fraud

Thank you... I will also add that it was with a reward zone person on the phone yesterday that I found out that entries were made in early January (account edited). She saw when and who did it and would only say she did not know why they would do that. I have since gotten tired of calling and even showing a manager in the store what happened and have wiped out their changes to my account... I did take screen shots of my account and even pictures of it on the signature pad at bestbuy first.

Re: Warranty fraud

Hello haleer37,

Thank you for sharing this feedback!  I can certainly understand your concern when you realized that the information on your account had been changed.  I apologize for this entire situation as this is truly not the impression Best Buy wants to provide to our customers.

I was glad to read that you were able to get the warranties cancelled and it appears that you were able to correspond with Jonathan from our Account Maintenance team regarding this and the information linked to your account.  I trust that he was able to further assist you; however, please feel welcome to reach out to me with any additional questions or concerns by clicking on the “Private Message” link by  my name below.

Thanks,
