Warranty coverage

My daughter bought a Sony digiital camera 2 months ago and bought the WARRANTY PSP plan. When she took it to the store they said it would be 4-6 weeks before she would get it back and yourcustomer phone service said it would be a month. If that is the case that makes a warranty basically worthless since most people do not want to go that long without a camera especially around the holidays. If this is the case I would never buy camera warranty again. Also the sales rep in Athens Ga told her that it covered everything including liquid spills. The on line description doesn't appear to match with his sales pitch. The telephone rep said her system was down so she couldn't check my daughters warranty after I waded thru the telephone menu and waited 3-5 minutes on line for a reply she had no access to help. Any help would be appreciated.

Being that my passion in life is photography I can’t imagine not having a way to capture the holidays. I can imagine that not having a camera during the holidays, and the fact that your daughter just purchased the camera two months ago would be very frustrating. I will say that the turnaround time on camera repairs can be lengthy, but is not necessarily so. The length of the repair is usually dependent on how long it takes for the service center to get the parts needed to repair it.

You can purchase Accidental Damage and Handling (ADH) coverage along with a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection (GSBTP) plan, and the ADH coverage would indeed cover liquid spills on your daughter’s camera. I would be more than happy to try and resolve your issue, and find out if your daughter has ADH coverage on her camera. I am sending you a private message so check your inbox.
