Warranty On TV?

Howdy y'all,

I bought a Sony 46" KDL-46S4100 Flat Screen TV about 5 months ago. I did bought the extended warranty (if I'm not mistaken my TV should be covered 1 year + 2 years of extended warranty) the problem is I was so happy I got the TV I forgot to ask for a receipt. I did called Customer Service to find out how if I will be covered by the warranty without a receipt. They tried looking up my info but my name nor address was found (and yes, it was delivered) That wasn't much help, really. Basically what I am trying to ask is;  a) is there any way the BB store I bought my TV from would be able to pull up my records and provide me with a new receipt? b)If not, how in the heaven am I supposed to bring it in for service, I hope I don't have to, if my warranty includes being picked up from my house, fix/replaced and bring the TV back and I have anything to show for, i.e. a receipt? and c) is said "warranty" transferable if I want to sell my TV. How do I do it?

Thanks for all the help that might come and sorry for such long post that I think it could be shortened...

Re: Warranty On TV?

Yes they should be able to look up the receipt. They should have multiple ways in trying to find that receipt for you. The easiest would be if you had used the free membership called Rewardzone. As long as you can remember the phone number(s) and/or name, address etc.. they should be able to find everything they need, and reprint you a copy of the receipt if you need.

b)If not, how in the heaven am I supposed to bring it in for service, I hope I don't have to, if my warranty includes being picked up from my house, fix/replaced and bring the TV back and I have anything to show for, i.e. a receipt?

They should be able to find it all in their computers.

c) is said "warranty" transferable if I want to sell my TV. How do I do it?

Yes that is one of the great things about buying the protection as it will increase the value of your item in the event that you decide to sell it. You would go into the store with the new owners information and/or call 1800-237-8289 / 1800-BESTBUY

Re: Warranty On TV?

I thank you for the response but I was expecting from a moderator (since they are all about customer service, yeah right!) Clearly that is not the case. I called the 1-800 number and I spoke to one of the members of Geek Squad and either he is too dumb or they deleted my info. I did gave him my address and name and he could not find me on the list. I guess I'll have to walk down to my local BB store, I doubt it will be any different.

Thanks, anyways.

Hi Fab69,

I'm sorry for the delay.  I've asked Karina, one of our Community Connectors, to gather some information from you and provide you with some options for obtaining your receipt documentation.  You should be hearing something shortly.

Thanks,

Fabian, Hi,

I will be happy to help.  Sorry for the delay. I understand you are pretty upset; trust me with the cold winters in Minnesota, I find great comfort in my television, so I know where you’re coming from.  So you purchased a 46’’ Sony television with a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection Plan (GSBTP)? If so, you are covered for the length of its time, and if you didn’t purchase a GSBTP, then you more than likely have a manufacturer’s limited warranty.

I will be sending you a private message to get some additional information to help me with the search of your receipt. To view your private message, make sure you are logged into the forum then select the envelope icon at the top right corner of the page.

The GSBTP is transferable if you do decide to sell the television. In such a case you would have to contact 888-BestBuy with the GSBTP number, the customer service pin number (taken from the receipt), the new owner name, phone number, address and email address.

Thank you for your patience. I look forward to your reply.

Have a nice day,
