Untimely Manner of Service.

[ Edited ]

On August 27th 2009, I had my television service for about the 3rd or 4th time. I kept in touch with the service company daily to find out hot long it would take until my television was fixed. The informed me that they were not able to locate parts for my television, so they'd have to work with Best Buy to get them.  When they finally got the parts, they went ahead and installed them in my television and it still did not work.  After probably 50 conversations w/ help from the repair company, we were finally able to get a replacement approval on September 18th.  Since the local Best Buy, here in Wichita Falls, TX did not carry the television that was most comparable to what I had, they had to order it for me.  At this time, I was told that they would not be able to get the television in until October 8th, today.  So, I called on Monday, Oct 5th to see if my television would be in on the 8th.  I was told that yes, it would actually be in on the 7th, but they didn't know for sure what time the truck comes in, so they always tell you the next business day. So, I go down to the store, today, Oct. 8th, and the replacement television is not there.  I am frustrated.  I've been without my television for almost 2 months now and I am completely unsatisfied.  I am sitting here with a receipt and a 4--year service plan for a new television that it no in my possession.  The best the local store could do was offer me an exchange.  I've already been offered the best television in comparison to what I already had, the only thing the could do is give me a downgrade. Ofcourse I could upgrade, but would wind up paying more.  What is Best Buy going to do to satisfy me?  I now have no idea when this television might come in.  Can somebody please help me out here?  My order number is P order #*************.  If I can't get this televion in a timely manner, why can't I just get my money back from my original television, instead of this store credit that they gave me to purchase this television that I still don't have?

Are you asking for a cash refund?

Re: Untimely Manner of Service.

I've asked for a cash refund for my original television and all they'll offer me is a store credit for what they find most comparable to what I had. I bought a 60" Sony LCD Television in December of 2005 for $3400 and now I'm being offered a 65" Rear Projection Mitsubishi for $1600.  I know that these things change with time, but I've had several problems with the original television. I either want my money back or this new television ASAP.  I've been without a television for almost 2 months now because Best Buy can't get their act together.  If they didn't have what they offered me in-store, I should have been offered an upgrade or something. Instead we ordered the Mitsubishi over 3 weeks ago. It was suppose to be in today and wasn't there.  Now they can't even tell me when the television will be in.

They offered you a DLP to replace an LCD? Very odd. However, I can guarantee that you will not get anything but store credit.

That's what they offered me when we went ahead and ordered the Mitsubishi.  Now, I'm just waiting for the television to come in.  It was suppose to be in today, the 8th of October and now they don't have any idea when it will show-up.

Hi mfettkether,

Being asked to wait even longer, after you had already waited as long as you did to get your TV repaired, would be extremely frustrating for anyone.

When the store processed the replacement of your TV they should have replaced your TV with the most comparable model TV as determined by the store. I would like to look into this for you, and make sure you get a working TV as soon as possible. I am sending you a private message, and to check your messages you should log into the forum and click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
