Terrible customer service with refrigerator warranty

Almost 4 years ago we purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Best Buy with the extended warranty. During the first weekend of May this year, the refrigerator stopped cooling. We lost all of the food that was in the refrigerator. Called the Geek Squad per the store mgr and scheduled an appt. The tech came out and said he had to order parts. The next available appt for him to come back was a week later. He came back, replaced the parts, defrosted the ice build up in the back and the refrigerator worked for about a week until it stopped staying cold again, after purchasing a weeks worth of groceries for us and 4 house guests and a graduation party.Threw away all of the food again. Called Geek Squad again, tech came out and said the computer needed to be reset....said he reset computer. Went out and purchased a weeks worth of groceries, and later that day the refrigerator warms up to a toasty 58 degrees. Toss the groceries the next day, and call them back....they send another guy out a few days later. He says that he needs to order more parts....different parts than the first tech. I notice on his computer when he pulls up the history of our account that it says they used USED parts for repairs. He schedules another appt with me.....for 5 days later, which was supposed to be today. I get a call this morning, after staying home and not able to work once again, and the tech tells me that the parts are not in. I have to wait and call Geek Squad again after they open and go through all of the history once again.....now they wanted to come out on Saturday. After yelling and screaming they moved it to tomorrow.

This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Best Buy obviously does not care about their customers being repeat customers. I have been without a working refrigerator for 5 weeks now. If Best Buy cared, they would not make their customers wait another week every time they come out and don't fix the problem....they would get someone out there right away to do it. You get the same lame excuses every time you call. They would also send out techs that know what they are doing. I have dealt with nothing but incompetence, and tomorrow will be the 6th day I have had to lose 4 hours of work because of their incompetence. So 24 hours of work lost, 3 refrigerators full of groceries, a lot of aggravation on my end and I wonder how much it is costing Best Buy to keep sending out their incompetent employees, and to handle all of the paperwork and billing that goes along with the service calls.

Best Buy.....if you want to keep customers, you have to treat them how you would like to be treated!!!!!!!

Re: Terrible customer service with refrigerator warranty

Hi sfinzer,

I can’t agree more with you that in customer service you should always treat a customer like you would like to be treated yourself, and I would never like to be treated as you described your refrigerator repair. I did look into your repair and it looks like the technician did come out today 6/11/2009 and your refrigerator is finally repaired. This is not to say you should be happy with the experience, but I was glad to see you finally have a functioning refrigerator.

I also see that you were given the necessary information to get reimbursed by your Performance Service Plan (PSP) for the food that went bad. Per completed repair you should be able to get reimbursed by your PSP for up to $200 worth of food. I am sending a private message to you to make sure you are taken care of in this regard. To check your private messages just log into the forum and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Thanks for posting,
