My name is Seth {removed per forum guidelines} and I have been a loyal best buy customer for years. Buying everything from DVD's to TV's and computers. I have had good experiences when it comes to help with issues with my laptop and desktop but that is where it ends.
I have had a Inch Westinghouse LCD TV for about 3 years now and purchased a 4 year service plan back when I bought it and last week the picture went but there is still sound just no picture. So I call the 1866 number and they set me up with a company out of NC and I live in VA but that is how they do things.
The problem arose last Tuesday when they called and said best buy had overbooked their staff and they would have to reschedule until today between 8 and 1. so my wife takes the day off and waiting and waiting for the people to come no one shows and no phone call. So I call the company and they said they person could not get out because of snow(there was no snow here today last snow was about a week ago). Anyway they could have at least called me and told me that so my wife could had went into work earlier.
I feel that Best Buy has really screwed me on this on and I feel very angry at the whole situation and feel that I may no longer do any business especially TV business with Best Buy.
Hope someone on the best buy team can help me out with my situation and maybe let me take it into the geek squad or just let me get a new TV that use to be the way things worked when you bought a service plan 4 or 5 years ago.
Seth

I've had that happen to me twice and both the time they don't show any remorse. It is like we need them and they can do whatever they want. even the time frame they give is anywhere from 8 in the morning to 5 in the evening. We are supposed to wait for them at home the whole day.

Hi sajohnson05,
I would be very upset if my wife took a day off of work to wait for this diagnostic appointment, and then the technician never showed up. I’m sure the fact that your appointment was re-scheduled to this date already made this even more upsetting.
I do know all the snow on the east coast has caused problems with all in home repairs, and most service centers are very behind because of the weather. I definitely agree that this service center could have at the very least called enough in advance so your wife didn’t have to miss work for no reason.
Any TV over 30 inches is now serviced in the customer’s home (if at all possible), but your local Best Buy® store should be able to send this TV out to be service if you would rather have it repaired that way.
I did look into your repair, and I do show that parts are on order for this repair. I am sending you a private message to pass along some additional information, and to offer my personal assistance in this matter. To check your messages you should log into the forum, and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Thanks for posting,

What part of VA are you in? I handle TV/Appliance repairs in Maryland and Virginia so I may be able to provide some assistance or information.

I am getting very frustrated with best buy by getting the run around on this issue. I had a tech come to my house last week and tell me that the part that he would need to fix the TV was not being made anymore and that best buy would contact me for the next step and I have not heard what that is. A agent PM me and told me two different things, he told me that the part had been ordered and just not shipped yet and then in the next PM told me that he would keep looking for the part. So which is is has the part been ordered or are you still looking for the part.
I have been a very loyal customer for best buy for year and bout appliances from them TV's, video game systems, DVD's and DVD players, computers and with all big ticket items I have bought the warranties and now I feel like that is just a waste of money.
